These terms govern your use of ChaseLight, a photography shoot-planning app. By using ChaseLight, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
ChaseLight helps you plan landscape and astrophotography shoots using sun, moon, weather, and tide data for a location you choose. There's no account or sign-up — anything you save stays on your own device, as described in the Privacy Policy.
ChaseLight is not directed at children under the age of 13, and you shouldn't use it if you're under that age.
ChaseLight offers a free tier with limited access to forecast detail, saved locations, saved chases, and the AI Scout feature, and an optional Premium subscription that removes those limits. Subscriptions are billed and auto-renew on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, at the price shown in the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase) until you cancel.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, using RevenueCat to manage entitlement status — we never receive or store your payment details directly. Your subscription is managed, and can be cancelled, through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, not within ChaseLight itself. Refunds are handled under Apple's and Google's own refund policies, not by us directly.
If a subscription price changes, that change will only apply going forward and will be presented to you in accordance with the App Store's or Google Play's own requirements before it takes effect.
Any location or shoot you save in ChaseLight is stored only on your own device. You're responsible for keeping your own device backed up if that matters to you — we have no copy to restore it from, and uninstalling the app or clearing its storage will permanently remove it.
Sun, moon, weather, tide, and place information in ChaseLight comes from third-party sources (see the Privacy Policy for the full list) and is provided for planning purposes only. It can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. We don't guarantee its accuracy and aren't responsible for decisions made based on it.
ChaseLight's conditions scoring is a planning aid, not a safety guarantee. Chase locations can include coastal, elevated, remote, or otherwise hazardous terrain, often visited around sunrise or sunset when light and visibility are limited. Conditions on the ground can differ from the forecast, and can change quickly.
You're solely responsible for assessing the safety of any location you visit, including terrain, tides, weather, access, and your own ability, before and during any shoot. Duncan Struthers is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from visiting a location based on information shown in ChaseLight.
ChaseLight is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, or uninterrupted availability.
To the extent permitted by law, Duncan Struthers is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of ChaseLight. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law, that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You can stop using ChaseLight at any time by deleting the app. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of ChaseLight at any time.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.

These terms may be updated from time to time as ChaseLight changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
